Alya

A gift art for *CrypticStar, because she’s nice and deserves some love. This is her character, Alya. I sort of reinvented her costume but I tried to at least make it somewhat reminiscent of her usual outfit…there’s just a lot less of it now, heh. …Hey, at least I put clothes on her!

Oh yeah, the Celtic stuff in the backdrop was sort of because Alya has a Celtic-looking tattoo on her shoulder. I’ve drawn this character twice now and haven’t managed to get her in a position where it’d show off her tattoo. D’oh!

The pose was a recycled sketch from a previous commission. The pose was originally rejected because it looked too stiff. I liked it and thought it had potential though so I reworked the pose and changed a few things in an attempt to correct the issues it had. She still looks a bit stiff but not too awful bad. I’m happy with it at least. I seem to be slipping back into a bit of a toonish style though…d’ah well.
